Allotment of open Grounds for holding various Exhibitions/Events

MMRDA has developed Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) as a modern International Finance and Business Centre (IFBC) at a central location in Mumbai.

Following open plots in BKC are available for short period for holding exhibitions and events.

Procedure for booking of MMRDA Grounds

1. Request letter should be addressed to:

2. Request letter should contain the following details:

  • Nature of the show/exhibition. any other event life,religious,social,etc.
  • Dates giving detailed break up of setting up infrastructure, actual show/exhibition and dismantling days.
  • Area required for the show/exhibition in sq.m.
  • Parking requirement in terms of as per mmrda policy for single day events it is 50% of the events area and 30% of the events area for events more than 2 days.
  • Any other relevant documents/brochures like trust deals etc, ( particularly in case of social or religious events or any other shows/exhibitions of non commercial nature)

4) Terms and conditions of the allotment are as follows:

  1. Entrance form 45 m. wide road is not permitted.
  2. Except with prior written permission, the area more than the area mentioned against the dates in the above table shall not be used during those dates under any circumstances.
  3. MMRDA reserves the right to put to use the land un-allotted to you as it deems fit.
  4. Except with prior written permission, the period of use of land shall not exceed days under any circumstances.
  5. The land permitted to be so used shall not be used for purpose other than for the purpose as mentioned in your letter and this allotment is not transferable.
  6. The land is allotted on ‘as is where basis’ is. No permanent structure of any kind shall be erected on this land allotted.
  7. Any damage made to the land shall be made good by the licenser either by reinstatement or payment of compensation. The decision of the Metropolitan Commissioner, MMRDA shall be final as regards the nature of the damage and amount of compensation therefore, and the same will be binding on the allottee.
  8. Immediately after the event is over, the land shall be handed over in its original condition to Lands Manager MMRDA in a peaceful manner by the allottee.
  9. The allottee has to obtain all the necessary permissions required from the statutory authorities and government organisations like BKC Police Station, Chief Fire Officer, BMC etc. to host the Event/Exhibition including a temporary permission from the Collector, Mumbai Suburban District. The allottee should park Fire Brigade Vehicle and Ambulance on allotted site on all event days.
  10. The allottee will have to pay Non-Agricultural Assessment by the collector BSD that may be levied as per the prevailing rules.
  11. The allottee has to pay all other statutory fees, taxes etc, if any.
  12. The permission for temporary use of land will be effective only after execution of an agreement between the Lands manager, MMRDA and the allottee, on the Stamp Paper of Rs.100 incorporating the above terms and conditions.
  13. The allottee has to pay 25% of the License Fee of RS.        /- as advance payment or full payment if desired by the allottee  by DD or Banker’s Cheque/Pay Order drawn in favor of ‘MMRD Fund’ payable at Mumbai within 10 working days from the date of issue of allotment letter. If the allottee does not pay the 25% advance within 10 working days this allotment shall automatically stand cancelled. If the allottee cancels the Event/Exhibition, or reduces the allotted area or changes dates and reduces the period of the allotted area of Event/Exhibitions, the 25% advance payment will be forfeited.
  14. The allottee is required to pay the balance 75% of the total License Fee of Rs.           /- (Rupees                       ) by DD or Banker’s Cheque/ Pay Order drawn in favor of ‘MMRD Fund’ payable at Mumbai before the execution of the agreement (atleast 10 working days prior to the start of setting up of infrastructure ) with the Lands Manager, MMRDA.
  15. The allottee has also to pay to MMRDA a security deposit of Rs./- (Rupees                       ) by DD or Banker’s Cheque/ Pay Order in favor of ‘MMRD Fund’ payable at Mumbai refundable without interest and with adjustments if any to ensure satisfactory reinstatement of MMRDA property, before the execution of the agreement with the Lands Manager, MMRDA. The Lands Manager will then demarcate the land on ground and hand over the possession of land to the allottee. The original receipt of the security deposit is required to be produced along with the application seeking refund.
  16. The allottee shall scrupulously observe and perform his obligation or liability enacted by any law forbidding indecency, vulgarity or obscenity in any act gesture, demonstration or representation during the event. There shall be no alcohol or liquor or drug served/consumed on the allotted ground during the allotment period during the event or exhibition.
  17. The allottee shall scrupulously observe and perform his obligation or liability enacted by any law prohibiting any religious propaganda demonstration or representation prohibiting inducement for religious conversions during religious/spiritual events.
  18. Immediately on taking over the possession of the temporary land, the allottee shall barricade and protect the rented land as per the attached plan.
  19. If there would be any deviation from the size and shape of the temporary allotted land the additional area shall be charged for the full period (including setting up of infrastructure, event, and dismantling) at the same rate.
  20. The allottee shall be allowed banners 25 nos. on the streetlight poles on the Bandra Kurla road. These Banners should be strictly temporary in nature. Erection of these direction Banners should not in any manner cause obstructions/hindrance to traffic. The matter displayed should be related only to the event such as indicating directions to venue welcoming the Honourable Guest and shall not to be used for promoting any particular product/brand. These direction banners should be dismantled by allottee by last day of event. Any damage caused to the land proportion on account of erection of these display banners should be made good immediately by the allottee at his own cost. In case of failure to dismantle the display boards by the stipulated time by the allottee, MMRDA reserves the right to dismantle/remove these banners and the expenditure incurred for the same along with penalty has to be born by the allottee.
  21. The allottee shall be fully responsible for settling any claim for any damages etc. arising out of or related to the proposed event/ program from anybody including any statutory body and/or fighting against any claim of damages etc., in a court of law anywhere in India or abroad and they shall keep MMRDA and its officers/employees/contractors indemnified at all times against any of such claims/events/mishaps etc.
  22. The allottee should get the approval from MMRDA for the seating arrangement plan of 35 Nos. of seats in the first three rows before the possession of temporary land i. e. ___. The allottee shall handover to the Office of the Metropolitan Commissioner, 35 Nos. of Complimentary Passes, 5 days before the Event.
  23. Only mobile toilets are permitted and no disposal of waste water/wastage will be allowed on the ground.(the allottee should make own arrangement for waste water disposal/wastage.
  24. If the ground is required for VVIP function, the applicant will have to shift the allotted ground in another near by location.
  25. Any breach of above mention clause will amount to forfeiting security deposit and cancelled the event.
